The phenomenon of color has had two purposes in the natural world. The first is to communicate to us about our environment to keep us safe and well. Should I eat that? Should I go there? The second is to stimulate our minds to grow and develop. That's beautiful, what is it? That's strange, what is it? How wonderful - can I make it happen again?
Next is full spectrum light, which is the basis of color perception. Light makes color come to life. We have to keep this in mind - that colors as human made pigments have to work so much harder to come close to nature's brilliance. And what's so wonderful about nature's palette is that colors that appear in nature are always in perfect harmony.
For all these reasons, nature's colors serve as an inspiration for my projects, because I intend always to create environments that are both ergonomic and humane. It's absolutely necessary for me that this is the foundation.
