In his book Theory of Colors, Goethe explained his views on the nature of colors and how they are perceived by humans. Although they were developed in the early 1800s, Goethe’s principles remain powerfully applicable to modern life.
Since childhood I had felt deeply that color impacts our emotions and responses, but I wondered about its objective truth. Goethe’s findings on how color impacts our emotions validated my native intuition and made me a believer. His understanding that people have specific emotional responses to specific colors in different environments is the foundation on which I build today.
